McMaster University’s twelfth annual Graduate Conference, “Mapping the Global Dimensions of Policy 12 – New Research for a Changing World”, invites contributions speaking to questions raised at the intersections of globalization and policy studies. We welcome graduate students for any university and all relevant disciplines with original research ideas to submit proposals for a paper or poster presentation. This includes, but is not limited to, the disciplines of Political Science, International Development Studies, Sociology, Cultural Studies, History, Public Policy, Business, Geography, Law, Psychology, Environmental Studies, Labour Studies, Health Studies, and Philosophy.
This year’s conference has three main goals: (1) bolstering graduate students’ research by providing a platform for new work; (2) providing in-depth feedback and avenues to advance graduate students’ careers – both academic and non-academic; and (3) creating the opportunity to (re)connect and network with fellow graduate students following years of remote learning.
Panels will be organized in themes to advance critical analysis on topics such as Migration, Health and Social Policy, Indigeneity, Economic Policy (including Finance and Trade), International Development Policy and Practice, Digitalization, Postcolonial, Decolonial and Feminist Politics, Social Movements, Labour issues, North-South Relations, the Environment, Infrastructure, Security, Austerity and Neoliberalism, International Organizations and Higher Education.
The conference will be held March 10-11, 2023. We anticipate holding the conference at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and will remain committed to ensuring the safety of all students during the ongoing pandemic.
